MCM London Comic Con ventures into the mysterious world of faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves with the news that four stars from supernatural drama Shadowhunters will be appearing at next month’s show. Katherine McNamara, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia and Jade Hassouné will be signing Saturday and Sunday of the ExCel London event.
Based on Cassandra Clare’s fantasy novel series The Mortal Instruments, Shadowhunters stars Katherine McNamara (Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Transformers: Rescue Bots) in the lead role of Clary Fray, who discovers on her 18th birthday that she is descended from a long line of Shadowhunters – humans with angelic blood who hunt down demons.
Alberto Rosende plays Clary’s best friend Simon Lewis, a loveably geeky guy who gets turned into a vampire during Season 1. Emeraude Toubia’s character is rebellious demon slayer Isabelle Lightwood, a deadly whip-wielding fighter who initially looks down on non-shadowhunters. Meanwhile, Jade Hassouné appears as Meliorn, a seelie who has an on-and-off relationship with the beautiful Isabelle.
Shadowhunters returns in Spring 2019 for its final season, concluding with a special two-part finale. However, the show’s unexpected cancellation earlier this year has sparked a massive #SaveShadowhunters campaign by fans, whose efforts include ads on the sides of London buses, aeroplane banners over LA and billboards in Seoul, Toronto and New York.
