THIS PANEL WILL TAKE PLACE AT 1PM ON FRIDAY 26TH ON THE MCM MAIN STAGE
Three of the lead cast of BBC Sci-fi Blake’s 7 come to MCM London at 1pm on Friday 26th October. They will take part in a fun panel about the brilliant and classic show in celebration of its 40th anniversary and a new jam-packed double DVD set of interviews from Doctor Who world legend Keith Barnfather, who is also appearing.
MCM is proud to announce Blake’s 7 lead actors Michael Keating (Villa), Sally Knyvette (Jenna) plus Brian Croucher (Travis) in a fun chat about the show and their careers from 1pm-1.45pm on the Friday. Blake’s 7 documentary maker and unofficial Doctor Who director Keith Barnfather is also in conversation.
In celebration of its 40th Anniversary, Keith has put together the definitive set of seven documentaries on one double DVD set. This is easily the most in-depth interview set with Blake’s 7 cast including Gareth Thomas (Blake), Jan Chappell (Cally), Michael Keating (Vila), Jacqueline Pearce (Servalan), Stephen Greif (Travis), Peter Tuddenham (Zen, Orac & Slave) and SFX creator Mat Irvine. This fascinating set of interviews is a visual and factual treat, with many of the interviews shot on locations used in the programme.
Michael Keating’s acting career began in 1966 and he appeared as Goudry in Doctor Who story, The Sun Makers in 1977. A month later he first appeared as of Vila Restal Blake’s 7 as the only character (and actor) to appear in all fifty-two episodes, across all four seasons of the hit adventure series, from 1978 to 1981. Since 2005, Keating has played Reverend Stevens in the BBC soap opera EastEnders.
Trained stage actor Sally Knyvette played lead character, the elite Alpha class Jenna Stannis in the first two seasons of Blake’s 7. Jenna was a beautiful but cynical smuggler/self-styled “free trader”. Sally also played Kate Sugden in Emmerdale and Nurse Rowland in the General Hospital. Some of Sally’s other TV appearances include The Bill, A Touch of Frost, Casualty, Holby City, EastEnders and Coronation Street.
Brian Croucher played Travis is season two of Blake’s 7. He is an actor and director perhaps best known for his role as Ted Hills in Eastenders from 1995 to 1997. Brian appeared in Bottom’s second season episode “Parade” as Ted Nugent who Eddie calls “Harry the Bastard”. Some of Brian’s many other TV appearances include: Grange Hill, The New Avengers, The Professionals, The Young Ones, Filthy, Rich and Catflap, Dempsey and Makepeace, C.A.T.S. Eyes, Bread, Lovejoy, Casualty, The Bill, and Doctors.
Keith Barnfather worked at both the BBC and Channel 4 before leaving to set up Reeltime Pictures in 1984. Since then Keith has produced or directed (or both) over 500 productions. To cult TV fans, he is best known for the legendary Myth Makers interview series focused on Doctor Who (now nearing 150 editions) and numerous documentary specials. Plus Doctor Who spin-off dramas Wartime, Downtime, Mindgame, Daemos Rising and The White Witch of Devil’s End.
