COMIC VILLAGE UPDATE! Ace artists Tim Sale & Klaus Janson join MCM London line-up

Tim Sale (Batman: The Long Halloween, Superman For All Seasons) and Klaus Janson (Daredevil, The Dark Knight Returns) are the latest awesome artists to be added to MCM London’s Comic Village, joining acclaimed creators such as Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Frank Cho and Jorge Molina at the October show.


Eisner-winning artist Tim Sale is most famous for his long-running collaboration with writer Jeph Loeb, most notably on DC titles such as Batman: Haunted Knight, Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory and Superman For All Seasons and Marvel’s ‘colour’ mini-series Spider-Man: Blue, Daredevil: Yellow, Hulk: Gray and Captain America: White. Sale also provided artwork for NBC drama Heroes, which Loeb wrote and co-produced.



Distinguished inker, penciller and colourist Klaus Janson’s numerous DC and Marvel credits include acclaimed collaborations with Frank Miller on Daredevil and The Dark Knight Returns, with Grant Morrison on Batman Gothic and with John Romita Jr. on series such as Wolverine, The Amazing Spider-Man and Black Panther. Janson was recently one of the artists on Frank Miller and Brian Azzarello’s The Dark Knight III: The Master Race.



In addition to creating the iconic The Dark Knight Returns, the hugely-influential Miller has written a host of classic comics and graphic novels, from Sin City and 300 (both of which were adapted as major movies) to Daredevil: Born Again and Elektra: Assassin. Other acclaimed examples of Miller’s work include Batman: Year One, Ronin, Hard Boiled and Martha Washington miniseries Give Me Liberty.




Rising to prominence with award-winning, Eduardo Risso-illustrated noir crime series 100 Bullets, Brian Azzarello is also well known for penning DC superhero titles such as Joker, Wonder Woman, Superman: For Tomorrow, Lex Luthor: Man of Steel and Flashpoint: Batman – Knight of Vengeance. Other highlights of Ohio-born Azzarello’s distinguished comics career include writing for horror series Hellblazer and the Wild West-set Loveless.



Best known for series such as Harley Quinn, Painkiller Jane, Power Girl, Vampirella and Eisner-nominated graphic novel The Pro, Conner’s comics CV features a host of top tiles including Lois Lane, Codename: Knockout and Birds of Prey for DC Comics’ Vertigo line, X-Men Unlimited for Marvel and Blackbull Comics’ Gatecrasher, which she co-created. Her recent work includes art for the late Darwyn Cooke’s Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre.



Multi award-winning writer and inker Jimmy Palmiotti has a tonne of high-profile projects to his name, including relaunching DC’s Harley Quinn series alongside partner Amanda Conner and co-creating Painkiller Jane and Marvel’s Marvel Knights imprint. Other work includes Powergirl, Deadpool, Monolith and Jonah Hex for DC Comics, Back to Brooklyn and The Pro for Image Comics, The Last Resort for IDW and 21 Down for WildStorm.



Writer and illustrator Frank Cho is best known for the award-winning Liberty Meadows, as well as series such as Hulk, Mighty Avengers, New Ultimates, Totally Awesome Hulk and Shanna, the She-Devil for Marvel Comics. Famous for his sexy, sometimes controversial takes on female superheroes, the super-talented Cho has also created covers for host of series, including Harley Quinn, Conan the Cimmerian, Jungle Girl and Wonder Woman.



A superhero fan from an early age, ace Mexican artist Jorge Molina’s work can be seen in Marvel series such as Thor, Star Wars, The Superior Spider-Man, X-Force, A-Force, Avengers World and the ongoing X-Men Blue, which he co-created with writer Cullen Bunn. Now with a decade’s experience in the industry, Molina’s credits also include video game, comic, clothing and product design for the likes of Image, UDON, Top Cow and DC Comics.
