Join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 Moon mission with a special panel focusing on the human side to the moon!

Is it realistic to go back to the moon? What are the benefits? Could we ever live there?  Panellists Dr Kevin Fong, Prof Richard Wiseman and Dr Megan Argo discuss the real everyday superheroes and look at how we can all use this extraordinary mindset to do amazing things in our own lives.

DR KEVIN FONG (OBE)

With a special interest in space medicine, anaesthetist and trauma doctor, Dr Kevin Fong currently presents BBC podcast 13 Minutes to the Moon and as an aspiring astronaut himself, he applied to ESA’s astronaut selection process in 2008. Kevin worked with NASA’s Human Adaptation and Countermeasures Office, as part of their artificial gravity pilot study team. He helped develop medical procedures for the X-38 Assured Crew Return Vehicle – a spacecraft that was once set to become the world’s first space ambulance.

DR MEGAN ARGO

Dr Megan Argo is an astrophysicist with a passion for science communication. In her day job, she teaches astronomy at the University of Central Lancashire, and uses a radio telescope the size of planet Earth to study galaxies crashing into each other. Her current project, We Share the Same Moon, fuses science and storytelling to teach science in an engaging way. In her spare time she can often be found podcasting, playing drums, or climbing mountains – not usually all at the same time.
